TM ABFrequently asked questions
Questions worth asking before you tap in.
Plain answers to the five things members ask us most before joining the network.
- 01
How does one card replace all my loyalty cards?
CardMeld is a unifying layer over the wallet you already carry. You link the debit, credit, and ATM cards you already use, plus the loyalty programs you already belong to — once. From then on, every participating merchant reconciles your points on a single tap at the terminal. The old cards stop mattering; the network-wide balance grows underneath all of them.
Why CardMeld answers it differently
- Unified cross-merchant points — every merchant you tap with, one balance.
- 02
How are my stored credentials protected?
Every card you link is encrypted at rest and replaced on our side with an opaque per-card token. The token is what travels to the terminal — raw card numbers never replay across the network. Only the tokenized credential touches the contactless rail; the actual card data lives behind CardMeld's encryption boundary.
- 03
What does it cost a merchant to join?
Nothing to enroll. We do not charge setup fees, monthly platform fees, or per-transaction interchange on the loyalty layer. CardMeld earns from the inter-merchant point flow the network generates — so a corner café gets the same turnkey rewards rail as a national chain, with the same zero-cost enrollment.
Why CardMeld answers it differently
- Free merchant enrollment — setup is free, the rewards layer is free, growth is the payoff.
- 04
Will it work at my regular checkout terminal?
Yes. The card uses the same contactless rails you already tap today, so any modern terminal that reads a chip card reads CardMeld. For legacy lanes, a small bridge adapter keeps older tills in the network without a hardware swap. Members tap; the terminal doesn't have to learn anything new.
- 05
How do my points actually consolidate across merchants?
Every participating merchant accrues into one network-wide ledger under your card. Earn a pastry at the bakery on Monday, gas at the pump on Tuesday, dinner on Friday — and the points roll into a single balance you can spend across the whole CardMeld network. Merchants see their own flow through a deep self-serve analytics dashboard, so each shop knows exactly where its points are moving.
Why CardMeld answers it differently
- Unified cross-merchant points — one balance, every merchant.
- Deep self-serve analytics — merchants watch their own flow in real time.
